Racing Season off to a Flying Start

Well done to Team HOEOCA sailing Marlow Ropes in this weekend's Sunsail series. A great day racing on Saturday, seeing the team getting two firsts and two seconds from the four races which was enough to give us the day... With racing cancelled on Sunday due to zero wind our results from Saturday makes us the winner for the weekend.
The boat didn't feel very lucky though. In the first race, while we were sitting in first place, the mainsheet block broke away from the side of the boom leaving the pin that should have been retaining the boom free to fall out on the way to the windward mark ... Great crew work enabled us to jury rig a temporary solution but by this time we were back in third. However a great final downwind leg saw us take 1st, giving time to get some spare parts from the committee boat and sort a better, but not perfect solution, for the second race .....
Well done to Martin, Helen, Denise, Edwardo, Chris, Mark, Stuart, and Slawek and thanks for all your hard work...
