_______________________________________________________________________
We're announcing and booking our annual trip to 'The Med' earlier than normal in order to secure boats from Skiathos.
DESTINATION
For 2024 a first. We 're returning to the Sporades which was the scene of one of our more memorable (for the wrong reasons) trips in 2008.
The Sporades islands of Skiathos, Skopelos (where Mama Mia was filmed) and Alonissos, together with the more sheltered Gulf of Volos, offer excellent sailing among very pretty islands. It’s an attractive sailing area with fresh sailing winds and the charm of exploring quieter islands and harbours off the beaten track.
CHARTER DETAILS
Through Nautilus Yachting with Athenian Yachts from Skiathos Town.
The boats are Sun Odysseys 2018 - 2021.
COST
Estimated charter cost for 7 days is in the region of £500 - £550 pp to include an outboard plus the usual obligatory cleaning of €170 - €240 ** per boat.
On this occasion there is a compulsory damage waiver payment of €300 - €400**. The refundable deposit is then €500- €700**.
**Dependent on yacht length.
The club facilitates the trip on a cost neutral basis, i.e. the charter cost is divided by the total number of members participating. Other expenses are shared by boat.

WHAT TO EXPECT & GENERAL INFORMATION
Before booking the trip, you should consider the following:
- This is a sailing holiday. We like to enjoy seeing places and sampling local food & drink in a sociable environment as well as enjoying the sailing. You'll be expected to take part in these activities and contribute to an equally divided boat kitty.
- You must be fit, capable of getting in and out of a dinghy and using a passarelle.
- We like visiting unspoiled places, so facilities can be basic. We may be at anchor some nights.
- We sail as a “mini flotilla” of 4/5 HOEOCA yachts with c 5/8 aboard each boat on a pre-planned route (weather dependent). Crews will be put together to best use the accommodation & experience available with the overall safety of all being paramount. Whilst we will endeavour to use the cabin space and saloon as best we can, we cannot guarantee that you will not be sharing a cabin.
TO BOOK
You must be a current member of HOEOCA to join the trip.
